McDonald's Logo History
McDonald's is an American fast food company with more than 35,000 outlets worldwide. McDonald's was founded in 1940 as a restaurant by Maurice McDonald and Richard McDonald in San Bernardino, California, United States. The headquarters of McDonald's is located in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The first logo of the company was designed in 1940, it had a wordmark of the company in black color. It also had a word 'Barbecue' which was later replaced by 'Hamburgers' in second version of the logo in 1948. In 1953 new logo was designed which only had the name of the company in it, in red bold font. In 1961 the letter 'M' was introduced as a symbol for the first time in Mcdonald's logo. The colors used at that time were also red and yellow. Since then the letter 'M' has become the brand identity of the fast food company. The latest version of the logo was designed in 2018 with yellow 'M' written over red background.
